MARTHA STEWART WEDDINGS

Vendor Contracts
Spring 2003

Weddings are romantic; contracts are not. And yet, the details that go into these pragmatic documents can turn an ordinary wedding into a truly magical event.

Wedding Planner - This contract should specify which events should be covered (engagement party, rehearsal dinner), as well as what time the planner will arrive for each event, how long she will stay, and whether she will bring additional helpers. "I'm often there from the moment the bride wakes up until the last guest leaves the reception," says Claudia Hanlin, a New York City-based planner. "And if the ceremony and reception are in different locations, I may need extra planners."
